Of Course it all started on Thursday night when the Arlington branch executives gathered at the home of the chairman to welcome the National and International President, Chief Sir Dr. Joseph I. Ilonze, Eze Ugonna,  na Ojoto. The President came down from  a stop in Houston where he was hosted by the Houston branch chairman, Chief Obinna Mbachu, Kajas. Later in the evening Patron Nze Charles Adimora (Atakatagbua) Chinyereugo, joined the Arlington executives at the Chairman’s home.

Osinigwe and his beautiful wife, Chief Lady Amaka Osuagwu  entertained everyone with so much to eat and drink.

The President spoke briefly to the executives and then ask for questions. Arlington executive members asked away and the President calmly answered all questions.

FRIDAY WAS FOR PARTYING:

Friday started after 3.00pm. That is when all members of the Arlington branch were supposed to check into the Marriot DFW Hotel with their spouses. Yes, this is part of the induction ceremony. To Arlington branch, induction is not just for new members. It is an opportunity for a weekend getaway for all members and their spouses. The party started about 10 pm as the members and all the guests partied into the wee hours. After that, the party moved to several hospitality suites that Arlington branch provided for it’s guests. There was so much to eat and drink.

SATURDAY MEETINGS:

The President met with members and took the opportunity to explain the genesis of the current crisis in PCNI. The president also took questions before moving on to the CEC meeting.

LCG had their meeting, led by LCG chairman, Chief Wilson Azih (ide) and took a very firm stand behind reinstatement by the Peace Committee of the National and International President, Chief Sir Dr. Joseph I. Ilonze.

On Saturday, the event kicked off at about 9.15 pm as the master of ceremony, Ogbueshi Steve Nezianya reminded everyone that Arlington Branch always do big things. The hall was packed full and overflowed into the Hotel huge lobby. The atmosphere and ambiance was electric as Arlington branch showcased it’s women uniform, launched its branch club music and inducted 20 new members. 17 members were from Arlington Branch, two from LA Branch, and one from Houston Branch. There was so much fun in the hall as the new inductees were very enthused to belong. Dollar bills rained as each new inductee came on to show their appreciation to Peoples club. The minimum pledge/donation made was $2500 as each new inductee and their supporters donated freely. At about 2AM every one have had enough as the last activity included picture taking sessions with the president, Patrons, National officers and others.

If there was  crisis in Peoples Club of Nigeria International, nobody seem to notice or care as everyone had fun.

To say that it was a successful induction will be an under statement. It was a blast!. As one happy chairman from the west coast put it “Arlington is simply fun!”

If I missed your name, please forgive me. I will be adding more names to this post as I remember them. There are just too many attendees to remember them all.

Credit for this success goes to the Arlington Branch Chairman, Osinigwe Obowo, Oduigbo USA, to the Chairman of the organizing committee, Attorney Lui Akwuruoha and to his entire committee and ultimately to the whole branch as everyone performed flawlessly.  But it wouldn’t be a success without all the guests who came to enjoy the Arlington hospitality. Guest from all coasts and in between. To all who answered our call, we thank you and wish you safe travel back to your respective destinations as we look forward to seeing you again soon at our 5th induction!
